What do you do?

My name is Leelaa and I started making handcrafted jewellery a couple of years ago.

 

I wanted to make something that could be ethically sourced so the wire I use is reclaimed copper and the stones come from old, damaged or unloved jewellery from charity shops or online job lots. 

How did you get started?

After suffering from a slew of medical issues I ended up almost bed bound. In an effort to keep myself occupied I started looking into things I could make, and jewellery is something I have always loved.

Is this your full time job?

Yes, I would my class jewellery making as my job. 

Tea or coffee?

I actually don't drink hot drinks. I've never liked them! I know, I know, how very un-british of me!

Where is your favourite local place?

I think my favourite local place would be the river near my home. I have agoraphobia so I don't really go out very much but it's peaceful and I get a lot of ideas for artwork there.
