A bird's-eye drawing of the 'Bailey' of Durham, also known as the 'Peninsula'. It shows the UNESCO World Heritage Castle and Cathedral, the medieval bridges, the marketplace and other buildings, surrounded by the River Wear with its beautiful wooded banks. Durham Cathedral has often been voted as Britain's No.1 favourite. Here for sale are fine art prints of my Durham Bailey Map. The original was drawn by hand in 2013. To get the angle, I used a number of aerial photographs and drew a base pencil sketch map on a 45º isometric grid. Then I completed the map with pigment liners and calligraphy pens. The whole map took nearly two months to draw. This map makes a fabulous gift for anyone who has ever lived in or visited Durham. The map can be bought rolled (£40), ounted (£50) or framed (£95).
